The Future of Learning Spaces
What's new on the Horizon
Incorporating Project Management
Auckland, New Zealand
29 - 30 March 2012

On behalf of the organising committee and Leishman Associates, I am delighted to extend an invitation to you to attend this workshop - Future of Learning Spaces, What’s new on the Horizon, incorporating Project Management, to be held at Auckland University of Technology in March 2012.

We are all challenged with providing teaching spaces that meet the ‘future’ needs of our students and academic staff.

This two day workshop will explore current thinking, ideas and trends for teaching and learning spaces for both current and future students.

Our students of the future are currently being taught in a wide range of teaching facilities at Primary and Secondary schools. We will explore modern teaching spaces to see how the learning process is currently being managed, and what they might expect from our sector when they reach tertiary facilities. We will offer a site visit to one of newest Primary Schools in Auckland and will hear from the Principal of Albany Senior College, an architecturally designed  secondary school.

We will hear from practitioners and consultants on current design methods, case studies and trends within the Tertiary sector.

Key to the design of teaching and learning spaces is Space Management and Timetabling which will also be discussed.

Integral in the design and construction process, we will hear from specialist Project Managers on the complexities of managing these projects within our Tertiary environment.

We hope you will be able to join us at this important event, and look forward to welcoming you to Auckland!
