Andrew is a civil engineer by background with postgraduate qualifications in environmental engineering, local government engineering, and business management. He spent 20 years in the RAAF as an airfield engineer, before retiring to enter the university sector. He has led the FM functions at University of Canberra, Wollongong University, and now QUT.
He has had a long involvement with AAPPA/TEFMA, spending 6 years on the Board between 1998 and 2004, including a term as President. Andrew returned to the TEFMA Board as Vice President in 2006/7 and became President in October 2008.
