Darren McKee Executive Director Property Services RMIT University

Darren McKee is the Executive Director, Property Services at RMIT University.  He is responsible for the University’s strategic asset planning and management, capital works, facilities services and leasing management.  

His achievements in the tertiary sector include; the development of strong links between academic and physical planning; implementation of strategies to significantly increase the use and efficiency of the built environment; and the successful management of a significant multi campus development, rationalisation and divestment project.
Darren has been contributed to Facilities Management in the tertiary sector for more than 14 years. Prior to this, he held strategic asset management and planning roles in the finance sector.

Since joining the tertiary sector, Darren has strongly contributed to TEFMA. His involvement has included the co-authoring of Section 2, Edition 2 of the Space Planning Guidelines; presenting papers at the TEFMA Conferences 2001 - 2006; and encouraging other institutions to provide data for the further research and enhancement of space management.  His main focus is to advance a strategic approach to space planning and asset management.
