Matt Smith Director Asset Management Services University of Tasmania

Matt Smith joined the University of Tasmania in January 1999 as the Facilities Manager and was promoted to his current position as Director, Asset Management Services in January 2001. As Director, he is responsible for all capital works, facilities management and asset management issues at the University of Tasmania.

Matt will be moving on from the Vice President role to take up the President Elect role of the Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association Inc from October 2008

Prior to joining the University, Matt spent 12 years as a Facilities Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, serving in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Queensland. Matt has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying), Graduate Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA in Technology Management. Matt is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
