The Role
The role of Asset Operations Manager is Responsible for the strategic direction, management and operation of the University’s physical assets. This role oversees and draws together the functions of Building services, Grounds, Asset Management, Sustainability, Field Services and the planning and delivery of specified capital and refurbishment projects. This role is also responsible for the development and implementation of sound asset management strategies related to buildings, grounds and infrastructure.

Your skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and significant experience in a senior role managing the operation of an engineering and maintenance function, ideally in a large complex environment. You will have demonstrated experience in budget management, contract management and administration as well as experience in change management. You will also have an ability to develop and implement innovations, action plans, strategies and procedures.
You will have well developed analytical skills and an ability to plan and prioritise workloads within strict deadlines. It is essential that you will have a proven ability to successfully lead change, manage and motivate teams as well as establish and maintain networks.

The Facilities Management Department provides support to the University's teaching research and support functions in four key areas:

  • Security Services Delivery
  • Capital planning, programming and delivery
  • Maintenance planning, programming and delivery
  • Support Services Delivery

The Role
We have a unique opportunity for a Space Advisor to join the Facilities Management team.  In this role you will be responsible for the daily operational responsibilities within Facilities Management for space allocation reviews and requests.  You will support the Campus Development & Space Manager in management, allocation and utilisation of space for the University campus. You will assist in the development, operation and validation of space management systems and processes for the efficient usage and utilisation of the University's space assets.

Your skills and Experience
You will have a Bachelor's Degree as well as significant administration/ coordination experience ideally with exposure to planning, within a medium to large organisation. You will have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with evidence of success in complex negotiations.
You will have strong stakeholder engagement experience across a number of disciplines and a proven background in communicating and balancing stakeholder needs. Additionally, you will have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to work within strict deadlines and manage various demands.
