Dear colleagues,

Welcome to 2022 and congratulations on all of your successes to date navigating returns to campus operations. I wish you all the best for a fruitful year ahead, with a focus on strategy and future endeavours rather than continuing with the constant change that COVID has brought us over the past two years. A big shout out to those impacted by recent flooding across the East coast of Australia, and acknowledgement that your enduring resilience in providing occupiable premises are what supports students to learn, researchers to change the world, commercial partners to operate and our higher education sector to thrive.

We hope that 2022 is the year that our networks and face to face connections can be re-established or expanded, as we engage and continue to learn from each other to successfully battle similar challenges and opportunities.

Our virtual offerings will continue and Wilson Security delivered a thought provoking webinar 'Emergency Preparedness and Response - A holistic approach buttressed by innovative thinking and technology' last month to kick us off. Check out our calendar of upcoming presentations to hear best practice from industry leaders across Australasia.

The 2022 Tertiary Education Management Conference (TEMC) will be delivered as a unique offering this year, with an online component as well as a face to face experience in Hobart. Take advantage of the Early Bird rates now (and cheap airline flights) to join us as we look to Regenerate and Thrive. We are also looking to our business partners and institutional vendors to support the success of this event, and would love to see you sponsor our event, exhibit your services and products and join our conversation. You can view the Sponsorship Prospectus here.

At the beginning of March we farewell Rob Beck, our Executive Officer who joined TEFMA in early 2020.
Rob was instrumental in leading the refresh of TEFMA's governance and organisational restructure following
an external review. Rob aided the Board in the development of the Strategic Plan (to be launched later this week), and also in the development of the new Benchmark Analytics Report developed in partnership with Arup.

We would like to thank Rob for his contribution toward the future success of TEFMA and wish him all the best on his next appointment.

The Education Services Committee have been reviewing the TEFMA CPD Program and sought advice from members as to what value they would see in us enhancing our current offerings.  To date, we have received some positive feedback from our members and we are offering you one further opportunity to provide your feedback.  If you are yet to participate in the survey, we would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to share your thoughts with us: tefmasurveys.com/CPD.

We ask all members to take the time to jump online and view the TEFMA Community portal.  The aim of the TEFMA Community is to foster a culture of collaboration through sharing and engaging with the resources available in the library.  The information is intended to generate discussion, build relationships with peers and learn from one another.  Members are encouraged to join Special Interest Groups to share knowledge and influence continual improvement opportunities across the sector.

Kind Regards,

Glenn Mowbray

TEFMA President
