Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Board and Executive, I trust you are all well, with students brimming at your campuses for Semester 1 and the year well underway. It is hard to believe the Easter break is behind us and we are now in mid-April!
Since the last newsletter, the Board and Executive have been working hard to ensure we have an informative educational and networking program for you for the remainder of 2024. Scroll below to see what is coming up.
Many of our colleagues will be knee deep in completing the annual TEFMA Benchmark survey. During March, TEFMA held a webinar to outline the major changes to this year’s survey around energy, carbon and waste. For those tasked with completing the survey, please raise any questions / queries in the TEFMA Community portal Benchmarking Special Interest Group found here. More general information on the Benchmarking exercise can be found here. The survey closes 1st May 2024.
May I also take this opportunity to remind colleagues that the TEFMA Clever Campus Awards and Scholarships nominations are now open. This is a great opportunity to recognise colleagues that have achieved fantastic things. The TEFMA Clever Campus Awards and Scholarships can be found here and we strongly encourage members to actively participate.
TEFMA convened a very successful Soft Services workshop at LaTrobe University in February, with 104 delegates attending. A big shout out to Sam Wishart and Danielle Rostan-Herbert as the convenors, and the broader Local Organising Committee members, for producing a great workshop – feedback has been fantastic. Delegates were informed of contemporary practices in security, grounds and cleaning management, with great sessions over the 2-day event. Delegates were treated to a tour of the Flemington race track facilities and dined the night away at the Workshop Dinner at the track!
Things to look out for in 2024!

The list of our Business Partners can be found here, and provides a useful list of professional providers that may be able to assist you in achieving your goals and objectives. As always, we extend a big thank you to all our existing Business Partners for the continued support - you are crucial in bringing relevant services to the TEFMA membership.
Can I also remind all members to take the time to jump online and view the TEFMA Community portal with the aim to foster a culture of collaboration through sharing and engaging with the resources available in the library. The information is intended to generate discussion, build relationships with peers and learn from one another. I am encouraged by the level of collaboration to date, and it is a great resource, particularly for new members to the sector, to engage and assist with the daily life of practitioners responsible for all matters property, estate and facilities management related.
