Dear colleagues,
I trust your 2026 is going smoothly now census date has well passed and we are midway through Semester 1. The Board and local organising committees have been working hard to ensure our Sustainability Workshop in June 2026 and Annual Conference in September 2026 build on the successes of previous events. Further detail on both events is below.
Our annual benchmarking process has now closed and the data submitted continues to be of a high standard. I thank all contributing institutions for their continued support in this very important and valuable data set. The benchmark data will be provided to our partner ARUP who will again be developing the TEFMA Benchmark Insights publication. We are aiming to present the final version at the Melbourne TEFMA Conference in September 2026.
We have embarked on a process to refresh two key TEFMA documents – the strategic asset management plan and the asset auditing guidelines. TEFMA engaged GHD through a competitive process to lead a Special Interest Group (SIG) to refresh both documents, and I am very pleased to advise that we have 17 people representing institutions from Australia New Zealand on the SIG. The refreshed guidelines will be published on the TEFMA Community Portal in July 2026. My thanks to the SIG Chair (Michael Bird), the TEFMA General Manager (Matt Smith), all SIG members and the GHD team.
